Galiano Island, British Columbia
Getting There
If you are travelling from out of province, we recommend flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR). From there, the most cost-effective option is to take the ferry from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, which is a 30-40 minute drive from the airport, to Sturdies Bay on Galiano. The sailing takes about 1 hour. Direct ferries depart only twice a day, so we recommend reserving a spot in advance. BC Ferries should publish the summer 2025 schedule sometime in November. Tickets typically cost $20 for pedestrians or $100 for drivers.
Alternatively, Seair Seaplanes operate flights from YVR to Montague Harbour on Galiano Island twice a day. The flight takes 15-20 minutes and one-way tickets currently cost approximately $180.
If you’re coming from Victoria, take the ferry from Swartz Bay to Sturdies Bay. There are multiple sailings each day and the trip can range from 1hr15 to 2hr50, depending on how many stops are made. BC Ferries should publish their summer 2025 schedule sometime in November. Reservations aren’t available for this route so arrive at the ferry terminal an hour in advance.
Getting Around
Transportation options on the island are limited; there aren’t any taxis or Ubers. If you’re staying offsite, we suggest that you bring a vehicle. If you need to rent one, you should reserve it in Victoria or Vancouver since there are no formal car rental services on Galiano.
If you’re staying onsite and want to explore beyond Bodega Ridge, we’d suggest befriending any of our local friends with vehicles. Alternatively, the venue has e-bikes for rent.
There will be a shuttle on Saturday to transport guests staying offsite to and from the venue.
Where to Stay
As a small remote island, Galiano has limited accommodation options. To ensure that everyone has a place to stay, we have reserved the cabins at Bodega Ridge, as well as several Airbnbs and guesthouses nearby. For the onsite accommodation, we are giving priority to friends who are travelling from afar. Thank you for understanding.
All guests are welcome - and encouraged! - to use the common space at Bodega Ridge whenever they’d like. We hope that it will serve as a base for us to all congregate.
We'll be in touch shortly with details about the accommodation we've set aside for you. No pressure to stay there, of course!
If you’d prefer to camp, Montague Harbour Marine Park has a beautiful waterfront campground just a 20-minute drive from Bodega Ridge. These campsites can be reserved in advance. You can find more information here.
Please note that the gate to the campground closes at 11 PM every night. After our reception, the shuttle will drop you off outside the gate, and you will need to walk a short distance in the dark. We suggest bringing a flashlight and choosing a campsite near the gate.
Reach out to Alex (+1 647-919-2012) if you’d like to borrow camping equipment!
